About the author
I was born in 1983 and discovered my love for writing because I always enjoyed writing essays at school. When a friend encouraged me to write fan fiction for our favourite anime (Sailor Moon), I ended up writing a few extra seasons for the series!
I started writing various novels when I was younger but never finished them. Fortunately, I still have many original printouts even though I moved multiple times (sometimes from country to country). When I became an adult, earning money became the priority, and everyone told me there was no way to make a living as a writer.
I only started earning money as a freelancer in my late 20s. I didn't see much of a choice at that time. I had lost a job and spent a lot of money on a student visa. Money was running out, and I did not have a lot of success finding a new part-time job. I also realised I did not like working with other people very much. I prefer to set my own hours, choose my own jobs - and enjoy what I am doing. But there was no way, was there?
I dared to apply for a few writing jobs and was chosen by quite a few clients, to my surprise. I translated a book (a few others would follow), wrote SEO articles, blogs, and more. I didn't earn a fortune - but I made money with writing. Everyone had been wrong!
What I still neglected was the part about "doing what I enjoy". Yes, I wrote a lot - but I would never have written most of the articles and blogs if nobody had paid me to do so. A lot of it was fun, but I still felt that something was missing.
My life is quite complicated (I might write about that in the blog at some stage), and writing for money is important. But I decided to take the risk and start working on my own projects again, even if this might initially mean a financial setback.
I will use this blog to write about my journey and my progress. I'll also share it when there's something that helps me along the way because you might also look for helpful information!
